you know there was a time when I thought if an artist walked off the stage then it was completely unacceptable, now I'm of the opinion, give me one reason why he should stay. If their isn't a line drawn of what is acceptable for a crowd to do and not do then how will anyone know when they've gone to far... next time they might try take his jacket, or give him oral sex on stage (like the danny brown incident). Crowds need to know when they've taken it too far, he warned the crowd that the show was going to end if the stolen property didn't get returned, when the thief failed to return the hat A$AP Rocky followed through on his threat... if he hadn't how would that have made him look?

thanks for reading & commenting Praverb. I definitely agree with what you are saying there. I think there has to come the perfect mix of charisma & lyricism in hip-hop soon. there has to be a happy median where you are pleasing others that have laid the groundwork down for you while also being yourself & expanding your music to a broader audience.

I think that charismatic rappers know how to appeal to their audience. Lyricism appeals to the purists. Charismatic rappers, imo, understand the pulse of the people while lyrical artists tend to focus on pleasing other artists.

SAN ANTONIO -- Rapper Kanye West's new video "New Slaves" is a powerful indictment of how commercialism has re-enslaved African-Americans ... but while the Texas Nationalist Movement agrees with a lot of what he's saying, they don't intend to let him defile their historic shrine to say it.
Plans were announced Saturday that West would be projecting his new video onto the walls of four locations in San Antonio as part of an effort to promote the bigoted message West sends, but plans to defile a Texas landmark with West's racist delivery are prompting the TNM to rally troops to defend the Alamo.
A San Antonio website reported Saturday (http://blogs.sacurrent.com/ind... that West plans to project the images onto the walls of the Alamo.
"We will defend Kanye West's right to freedom of speech and freedom of expression with our lives," said TNM president Daniel Miller in a phone interview from Nederland as TNM county coordinators began rallying members to meet at The Alamo prior to the scheduled 10 p.m. screening. "Most of us actually agree with him that corporate America has re-enslaved the black man with an over-emphasis on materialism. But he is wrong to want to use a shrine of liberty like The Alamo to try and make his point. It's the wrong place to try and broadcast the message he sends in such a hateful fashion."
The TNM leadership is asking members to gather in Alamo Plaza at 9 p.m. and to bring banners, lights and whatever other distractions may prevent the projection from being film-able.
"Kanye West and many other rappers like to think they're speaking for our black community, but the hatred and the vulgarity they use to deliver their message defeats their purpose," Miller said. "Texans -- whatever their ethnicity may be -- recognize that The Alamo is hallowed ground. It's not the right place to deliver the kind of message Mr. West wants to deliver.
"If Mr. West -- or any other entertainer -- wants to deliver a hard-hitting message about lingering racism in Texas, we challenge him and welcome him to present it at any of our county meetings," Miller said. "We will listen with open minds and open hearts. But do not use our most treasured shines of liberty in an attempt to foment racial discord."

Kanye needs to know that Texans do not appreciate his disrespecting of our culture and history. Projections on the Alamo for his deplorable videos are no different than scrawling obscenities on a gravestone. Take your lightshows to more suitable locations like trainyards or the city dump. Desecration of the sacred ground of our Texas heroes will not be taken lightly. Any sponsor or advertiser of this event take note: We will be publicizing your lack of respect for Texans and Texas' history to the highest levels. If you do not have the common sense to behave with respect then will ensure it costs you dollars and cents.
